All-right, finally I have something to report again!
Last year we went through a lot of shit, it was June when we just had enough, we needed a break! We had cooperation's problems and someone had to go. We had just done two unpaid support jobs for Lydia Laska & Ronny Pobel, helping out with the back-line and everything, and we barely got a free beer for the job. Then we found out that Kvelertak where having their release party at the same day of our next gig. Six years and we had our crappiest attendance ever! FUCK!!! ...so we had our "summer vacation" and when the summer was over I was ready to rock again, but not all members of the band thought the same. The inevitable was postponed until November, when Jack Feedback decided to leave.
Immediately after the band start rehearsing again, Slow Eddie originally a guitarist can finally pick up his favourite instrument. End of December and Sanrabb of Gehenna joins Upskirts for a jam. Couple of weeks later we are joined by a bass player too. But due to clashing schedules and musical differences it never works out as planned. Come February Sanrabb takes over the bass guitar and the band starts rehearsing and practising songs to play live again.
So there you go, April 16th we're back. After a year away. We got a lot of new songs since last release "Live in my basement" came out in February 2009. We will also play older material. This time we will be no one's whore, it will be us and you, and the Saturday night at Checkpoint Charlie in Stavanger. We start at 22:00 sharp, and for only 100 NOK you can witness the rebirth of UPSKIRTS!

So we just played two gigs, one in Stavanger & one in Sandnes. And now we have another one coming, we are supporting Lydia Laska the 30th of April at Checkpoint Charlie in Stavanger. I haven't had the chance to see Lydia Laska yet so I'm looking forward to this...
We've put an old school friend of mine to work on the cover for the next Upskirts release. We're going for artwork this time, for what we're planning to be our first full length album. I've only seen sketches so far, but it's looking good. Album won't come until next year, but a head start on the cover might minimize the chance of delays. Half of the songs isn't even made yet so, patience...
Spring is around the corner and the girls look hotter every day, cheers everyone!

So whats up? Hmmm... Yeah we're making songs for what we plan to be our first full-length album! Some titles: Horny & Unsatisfied, Haze Of Alcohol & Where's The Switch To Turn Off My Brain? This album is for next year by the way...
We're changing rehearsal place from September the 1st, and due to that we haven't planned any gigs and stuff lately. We're up for private shows if you wanna book us locally, some money and alcohol and we're in!
We recently had a 5 year anniversary and thought we'd have a party to celebrate that. But due different stuff we never got around to it. I guess we'll do something for later when we're settled in the new rehearsal room.
I'm kind of pissed off lately by all this crap from the politicians. And due to the lack of "culture grant" that we had in Stavanger, we loose our best stage Checkpoint as a regular concert stage for local bands and underground bands of Norway! And it's almost impossible to arrange gigs with 18 years age limit in Stavanger. What to do? We like playing for teenagers! And this was the Culture Capitol of Europe in 2008!?! WTF?!?
Be careful when you vote this September, the dark blue/right sided party's (Høyre/FRP) might seam more liberal on alcohol politics that the other party's, but! There's a big but actually... They have no interest in supporting music and culture financially. If we get a dark blue government, culture dies!!!!

Hello everyone and happy fucking new year!
Dirty Night III is arranged at Folken Grottene the 20th of February. Same price as usual: 100 NOK, 20 years age limit, except for students 18. Doors open at 20:00, and gig start is 21:00.
First band out is our good friends Martin & Vidar and their band "Familiens sorte faar". Their music is best described as haunting, melancholic & dark. All sounds is made by acoustic guitar and vocals!
Next band out is the local drunks in "Six eyes lost", expect some good fucking rock 'n' roll with catchy tunes.
Then it's us "Upskirts" and we're gonna rock you with all the tunes from our new release "Live in my basement". We're also gonna give out free cd's to (at least) the first 100 paying visitors.
The living dead dogs in "Bikkjaa" is the last band out, and they are gonna spread their zombie virus rock 'n' roll from Haugesund into the crowd!
Dirty Haffy and Thomas is gonna be DJ'ing all night, and until closing time! (03:30) Expect everything from Poison Idea, Fear, Plasmatics, Slayer, Pantera, Airbourne and a lot more...

"Live In My Basement" release date is set for the 20th of February! The same date we'll have a party at Grottene (Folken), as we arrange "Dirty Night" part III. More on the bands coming soon, I'm not finished booking, but believe me it will be a good line-up!
For you that understand Norwegian go HERE and read Rockeweb's review of the "Fuck Off It's Christmas" EP, and read the other reviews as well. We're not the kind of band that usually promote reviews, but this guy is just a genius! (He writes funny shit!) We haven't really promoted this release to much cause we only released it in 100 copies, but if anyone wanna order it's still possible even though it's not in the shop! Same price as the other's...

The road to perfection is the road to boredom. Fuck perfection and fuck christmas! This EP is inspired by bands such as Gehennah (Sweden), Suicidal Tendencies, Black Flag and all German thrash releases from 1982 to 1986.
We tend to use a lot of time on our releases: Writing, recording, drinking, delaying, mastering, designing the cover, arguing, you know stuff! This time we decided to write some songs quickly, record them and release them while they still were fresh!
We are proud to say that all songs are written, composed, performed, recorded, mixed and mastered in our basement and living room during a weekend in November 2008. We had a lot of fun making this and Bongo Bastard even got to write and sing the third verse of Fuck Off It's Christmas.
Watch out for our next release "Live in my basement" for early next year. It's already recorded so it shouldn't get much more delayed. Anyway, it includes six new songs recorded completely live in our dirty fucking basement! That means no overdubds, doubletracking, clicks, triggers, pro tools, whatever... You know a really "true" release!

We are sorry to inform you that we have cancelled Thursday's concert at Checkpoint! This is the first time ever we have cancelled a show, but it was necessary! We're soon gonna plan a new show in Stavanger for early next year to make up for it!
As some of you know our new cd should have been released a long time ago, but we are slow fuckers! Anyway the "Live In My Basement" recording session is finished and we will mix & master soon. But first we have a Christmas present for you! This weekend we'll record the first (And probably last) Upskirts Christmas EP titled: "Fuck Off It's Christmas", with the sensational B-Side "True Norwegian Church Pisser". We played them both live for you last week at Tou Scene.
Last week you guys could see us on TV3's Hellstrøm, and if anyone is wondering why Hellstrøm didn't want to serve anyone food while we where playing in the club under the restaurant. The reason is obvious, he couldn't stand to miss a Upskirts show!

Oslo has been booked for November 8, we play at "Skuret" with "Whoremonger" from Horten! Also local gig at our long time beer hole Checkpoint Charlie is confirmed for November 20. Oh and don't forget Haugesund at Flytten on Friday October 10.
There's a delay on our new release, but we still have a few "No Compromise" CD's left. T-shirts, patches and older CD's is very, very sold out! We'll squeeze out some more merchandise soon. T-shirt with new motive, both for guys and girls. Hey maybe even a new patch, and a new Cd as you know... I've even heard a rumor about something special for X-mas!

It's 9/11 today and I wanna say happy birthday to Bendel Bjørn! We're going down tomorrow September 12th to rock out in Kristiansand "På Hjørnet" and celebrating his 30th birthday, damn he's old! You know, never trust anyone over 30! By the way we start at 2300!
Also going to Trondheim October 4 to rock out with our friends there at "Kafe Larssen". We're playing with "The Hate Colony" and "Magnum Maids" and the arranger has promised us "ÆKTA KARSK"! We're looking forward to that!
Other gig news? Yeah we're working on some and hopefully we'll have some more for you, both locally and in Oslo at least! I hate booking gigs and if you wanna be our booking manager send us an e-mail! (haffy@upskirts.no)

Alright!
The long wait for new Upskirts material is soon over, and do we have a surprise for you! We started the pre-production today, and we are recording everything completely live. No fucking overdubs, no nice clean boring sound, just nasty, mean and dirty fucking rock 'n' roll! The way we fucking like it, hell yeah! We now have six never before recorded songs ready to be recorded, and we might have one or two new tunes as well before we are finished!
The new songs are: "Bastard", "Coming to get you", "D.F.R.R.", "Die", "Die by the beer" & "In whiskey we trust". As usual we are not stressed to release anything soon, and we will take our time. But we are hoping to have something ready for official release no later than September! After listening to the test takes today I believe we are making something special and different from whats going on in the music industry these days! We will start recording during the next weeks, and then off course theres mixing and mastering, making the cover and photo shoots.
Also to mention "Dirty Haffy's Dirty Night Part II" will be arranged Friday 20th of June at "Røde sjøhus" in Stavanger, third floor! Bands for the event is "Killing butterflies", "Töxik Death", "Upskirts" & "Ordrenekt"! No doubt this will be a kick ass event not to miss, doors open 2000, live music from 2100 to 0130 for only 100 NOK! Thats the best fucking offer any gig/festival in Stavanger can offer! Arranged in the true spirit of DIY!

The rock soldiers of Pyro on Norwegian radio (NRK P3) have selected Upskirts as one of the Norwegian bands to look out for in 2008. Check it out here (Norwegian).
Big party in the "Røde sjøhus" in Stavanger February 23, doors open at 2000.
Danger Dudes hits the stage at 2100 so you better be early, this is their first gig in 1,5 years and they probably won't play again this year. So if you like Turbonegro you know this is something not to miss. (They are the best Turbonegro tribute band in the world!)
Next band on stage is the super cool boogie rockers of Duckwalk chuck, and they are packing brand new songs, from their next fucking album!!!
Upskirts is third band out, with new material on the setlist, so expect new tales of drunkeness, madness and fucking.
The headliner of this first "Dirty night" event is Overhead and they play Motorhead songs only! And DDDamn good if I may say so... So if this isn't the ultimate excuse to get drunk with the boys from TJ Stavanger Rock City and Upskirts...

Alright, we play in Bergen today Friday the 13th! And tomorrow in Haugesund! And we have something special for you! The new cd in a Limited tour edition, only 25 copies ever made! We named it "No compromise" and the cover rocks, it's a pic of the band at the toilet of our favorite pub "Checkpoint Charlie"! The CD will only be sold at those two gigs!!! The original version still have to wait a bit more, because we are waiting for some spetacular toilet pics of some sexy female friends of us...

Kim has decided to leave the band. Upskirts will for now continue as a 4-piece band. We have not yet decided if this will be permanent or if we'll be looking for a new member.

We're just back from the gig in Årdal, and we're now starting building our new studio. It's probably going to take a couple of weeks. When it's done we'll start working on new songs and preparing for new gigs! Stay tuned!

We're not gonna bore you with a long studio diary, but we've filmed a lot and will probably edit it and give you a short documentary in the video section later. We still have mixing and the artwork left, but that will hopefully be finished within a month!

Day 1: That's today, changes changes changes! Vrangsinn was thrown out from the Asylum! We are now moving the whole studio to Moi, at Nordavind's house and we will be recording our next EP/Mini album there...
